GF/NO.1 - 01/15

January proved to be a very great month. Not only was it fun, but it also has shown that the rest of 2015 is promising. There have been a few distinct things that I've been into this month, and I figure I may as well share them with you all.

For fashion-related items, I've chosen two things: my nameplate necklace and my Fluevog boots. Both of these things were acquired early on in the month, and have been favourites throughout. The nameplate necklace was a present to me for christmas. It reads "Yuck".. I really like the band, and they ran out of the few ones they were selling, so I decided on making my own. With the boots, I went with the 'Tilda' model boot, in brown leather. I had finally ended up being ready to dish out the money on a good pair of boots, and I sure am happy with my choice. They are both comfortable and versatile! Highly recommend this brand of footwear. It's well made and designed here in Canada.

A few pleasant surprises took place this month, with food in particular. I tried Guava. Those things are delicious! I also screwed around with trying different variations of the classic grilled cheese sandwich. I was delighted when I sunk my teeth into the sourdough, provolone and fresh tomato combination. What a treat!

As far as entertainment goes, the web series High Maintenance, found on Vimeo,  takes the cake for most watched by Jaime this month. It's clever, to the point, and funny as hell! I've gotten through all of the free episodes, so I think it's time I started buying the newer ones. I think this little show has huge potential, and I can't wait to see what's in store for Janky Clown Productions (lol, what a name!) in the coming year.

Now, let's talk about music. The War On Drugs successfully stole my heart, and not just for the month. These guys are exactly what come to mind when I hear people rambling on and on about how the music industry has continuously gone downhill as years have passed, when in fact IT HAS NOT. Not even close! Lost in the Dream has earned it's spot on countless Best Albums of 2014 lists, no questions asked. The lyrics of all the tracks on this album are so relatable, and really get the feelings going. A friend of mine told me that he believes Under The Pressure is the perfect song to begin an album. I stand by that statement 100%. There's a ticket to see this band sitting on the desk in my bedroom, staring me right in the face, and it will continue to do so until May when I finally get to experience their magic live. I have a great feeling this will be one of the best shows I've ever been to/ever will attend.

Lastly, I should mention the rug I'd just purchased from Ikea for under the dining room table the other day. It's green, so it looks like grass. I think it jazzes up that area quite nicely, plus it prevents spills from staining the carper which I can totally appreciate as I've noticed I've been particularly clumsy lately.

What were your favourite things this month? I'd love to know! Leave me a comment below.

Hope everyone's year is starting off wonderfully!

Take care,
