Nina and Kaya Egli are the mother daughter duo that forms Family Affairs. The brand's vision is so strong because there is two sets of experiences to draw from when trying to look for inspiration for their collections.
To get into a bit of the background on each one of the ladies, let me start off by telling you that Kaya Egli opened her first store selling both original designs and vintage at the age of 20. She then went on to work as the in house designer for The Beatles Apple shop that can be found in London. Then we have Nina. Nina is behind a jewelry line called Toujours Toi. She's been based in New York, while Kaya, Switzerland.
The way they work is incredibly unique as well. Nina sends packages of visual inspiration she's put together over time including: fabrics, shapes and colours and ships them overseas to Kaya, where the progress begins. They then pull designs from Kaya’s archives to refine down to the finished product.
Their vibe is one that is both super classic with a twist, but comfortable, and I've already got a full cart of sale items I plan on purchasing s00n :~)
