After reading an article on this clothing brand, I just had to research further. I thought to myself, "could it be?" as it's really common to see eco clothing brands' designs look a bit... for lack of a more elegant word, ugly.
I quickly learned that Reformation was created by Yael Aflalo, a young fashion designer who'd had prior experience in the industry with her earlier line, Ya-Ya. She'd seen how damaging the fashion industry is to the environment on a trip to China, and decided she'd like to do her part to change that as best as she could, thus sparking the passion behind her, now incredibly popular clothing line, Reformation. With stores in both LA and New York, this label targets strong females who enjoy good quality, unique pieces. After all, when they go scouting for surplussed fabrics, they're only able to get a certain amount of yards, so the pieces aren't necessarily one of a kind, but they're definitely like 5 or 6 of a kind.
Not only do I stand fully behind their sustainable fashion choice, but their designs appeal to me. I certainly know where I'll be buying most of my back to school wardrobe!
