(With great help from Fashion East on tumblr for the photos!!!)
Ever since I took my first trip on the shady 80 Halifax, I knew I was in love with this city. Walking the downtown streets sans parents was a new thing to me, and I couldn't have been happier than to spend those first few trips doing what I had been doing.. Looking through all the vintage boutiques as I snacked on razzles from Sweet Janes and giggled to my friends, of course! One thing I noticed right away was that the people of Halifax, along with the buildings and the streets themselves, had character. One that I myself still aspire to this day to embody.
The character in which the city and it's residents share is a very unique one, I think. It's the perfect mix between being historically rich, quirky and classy. Much like Paris, there's something very laid back about Haligonian style/lifestyle. It seems as though the people walking the streets have just woken up and looked that good! Talk about effortlessly chic.
Not only do the people have impeccable taste in clothes, but they also have some of the kindest hearts in all of the world. The hospitality you'll feel while staying in Halifax is second to none. I remember the very first visit I took back there after moving here to Alberta, I found even the people in the airport to be lovely. Nova Scotia as a whole is good for that.
I love where I'm from.
